About Us

Some stories are not written — they’re carved and printed, passed down through generations.
Ours began in Jaipur, the city where hand block printing was born and where our ancestors began their craft.

For generations, our family has lived among the artisans — working not behind machines, but beside wooden blocks, colors, and cloth.
What started as the art of carving blocks has now grown into a complete journey of designing, printing, and creating — a bridge between tradition and today.

The Making of Wooden Blocks

Our ancestors were block makers — artisans who created wooden printing blocks for many other block printers across Jaipur and nearby regions.

They spent years perfecting the art of carving intricate motifs into fine Sheesham wood — each design drawn by hand, then etched carefully, stroke by stroke.
Their blocks became the heart of countless prints seen across India — each one unique, full of character, and made with devotion.

With time, our expertise grew deeper, and our imagination broader. We didn’t just make blocks for others; we began to create for ourselves — blending heritage craftsmanship with our own vision.
That’s when Chhaape took its first step — transforming from block makers to block printing manufacturers.

The Art of Handblock Printing

From carving the blocks to printing the fabric, our process remains rooted in human touch.
Each design is hand-printed using our own blocks — layer by layer, color by color — to bring patterns to life on soft cotton.

Every print tells a story of patience and precision.
Each fabric carries the rhythm of hands that have done this work for generations — guided not by machines, but by instinct, passion, and love for the craft.

As we grew, we brought this heritage online — so people around the world could experience what Jaipur has preserved for centuries.
Today, Chhaape proudly continues that legacy, combining ancestral skill with modern design to create fabrics and clothing that carry meaning, culture, and care.
